So there's this buddy, Okita Takashi-san, one very nice Japanese man, whom I said "I'd like to draw something for you".
He thought for a second and answered right away: "The samurai Okita Souji." Because they both have the same family name.
I didn't expect that
I mean, I had NEVER even TRIED to draw a samurai.
Had to make a whole research:
- check a Ruroni Kenshin volume for reference
- open a dozen Okita AMVs on YouTube
- look for any picture reference on Google
- study carefully the Shinsengumi uniform and the length of a katana...
It was a sweet, enjoyable pain...
